Influenza is a serious problem for the health of people, animals and birds. Therefore, comprehensive study of influenza virus, its natural reservoir, pathogenesis and immune response will provide further opportunity to ensure protection for animals, birds and people from this infection.
Objective
To study the immune response in chicken on the administration of LPAIV isolated from the natural reservoir.
Annually sporadic cases of tularemia in humans are registered in Ukraine and new enzootic areas are found. Monitoring of tularemia natural foci is important given the potential significant financial losses in case of tularemia outbreaks and taken into account that this pathogen can be used as a bioterrorist agent.
Objective
Study the activity of natural foci of tularemia and identify the main types of reservoirs and vectors of Francisella tularensis.
Over the last decade, the One Health approach has gained support as a valuable way to address complex issues at the interface of humans, animals, and the environment. Moving from theory to application is more challenging, though, and experts within each sector are eager for practical tools that enable an ‘operational’ approach to working across agency and disciplinary lines.
The presentation will be an overview of veterinary services, and why one health is important; It will include the role of veterinary services in One Health and examples from the field of veterinary services One Health collaborations.
Immediate detection and response to zoonotic disease outbreaks in animals are valuable strategies to prevent infections in humans. Detection and early warning of wildlife-borne pathogens are often limited by the lack of sensitized observers, efficient reporting mechanisms, trained personnel to conduct wildlife sampling, and adequate diagnostic capacity.
ISDS started the One Health Surveillance Workgroup (OHS WG) to engage its members in the advancement of this important and topical field. We define OHS as the "collaborative, on-going, systematic collection and analysis of data from multiple domains to detect health related events and produce information which leads to actions aimed at attaining optimal health for people, animals, and the environment."
