Washington State Department of Health (WA DOH) has compiled this guide for eligible hospitals and professionals who wish to demonstrate meaningful use of certified electronic health record technology by the submission of syndromic surveillance data to Public Health. This document is intended to be a consolidated guide for the content and submission of syndromic surveillance messages in Washington State. It is not meant to be a comprehensive reference on the construction and processing of HL7 messages.
