SDOH Integration into Syndromic Surveillance and Emergency Response Systems

Dr. Kieran Moore and Dr. Paul Belanger presented the following slides during the 2016 ISDS Annual Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. This presentation provides an overview of integrating Social Determinates of Health (SDOH) into Syndromic Surveillance and Emergency Response Systems. Drs. Moore and Belanger provide an introduction to deprivation indexes and how they are utilized in Ontario, Canda and an overview of the Public Health Information Management System (PHIMS) which is a real time environmental health surveillance system with population based integrated determinants of health layers.
