The purpose of this query is to capture visits related to intimate partner violence (IPV) in emergency departments and ambulatory healthcare settings. The query was developed to support states and jurisdictions to monitor trends and improve early detection of IPV, and provide timely data on severe forms of IPV resulting in hospital visits.
